The Weekend

Kevin and I left UBC for a little while to go do some stuff, including going to go meet up with my super awesome seeeeester!! Here's a bunch of pictures.
We stopped at a Fresh Slice for a fresh slice (of pizza), and I must say, what a deal! For real. One slice for $1.79 and you can even make your own pizza for $9.99!

Later, we met up with Valentina and Kenderjeet and they took us for yummy dinner at Brown's Social House, which was such a relief, seriously. I haven't had food that good for a week. It was awesome!! Afterwards, we went and saw Valentina's apartment, which is super cute and adorable and I'm super proud of my big sister because she's so cute and stuff and she has the CUTEST DOG EVER.
They took us for Menchie's and holy moly, let me say, that place blows Yumi's out of the water. They have peanut butter cup flavoured fro-yo and for those of you who don't know me very well, and for those who need a reminder, I LOVE peanut butter. I put lots of peanuts and extra peanut butter on mine and it was seriously the best thing I've ever had beside that fettucini alfredo twenty minutes before.
It was a really wonderful to see both my sister and her boyfriend. I really had a lot of fun!

The very empty bus ride home selfie.

These were taken today.
Kevin's sister, Katie, came out today to deliver Kevin his hockey gear and some odds and ends so we had the opportunity to show her around campus and we had lunch at the caf so she could see what kind of food we eat on the daily. It was really great of her to come out!
Anyway, while walking around campus we noticed this tree with these things growing on them so I took a picture and now I'm posting it on here. They don't look real! I've noticed that there are lots of different kind of trees growing all around campus, it's very earthy. I've never seen a tree like this before though!

Also, of course, I had to take a picture with THE WHALE. It's a real whale too! It was found in 1987 on a beach, it's hanging in the Biodiversity Research Centre, it's GINORMOUS! They found that it had damage on it's back, so they assumed it was hit by a ship, which is sad but now UBC gets to hang it up on their campus! Swaggie.

In conclusion, my first "real" weekend here at UBC has been a success! I've finished about 60% of my homework thus far, and am now about to finish the rest. As of now, I still miss my mommy, daddy, brody, lincoln, my friends, who are at a range of different universities, and of course, my teachers at HSS. It's a strange feeling being independent for the first time and like most of my peers here, I'm slowly adjusting to the amount of work necessary to succeed at UBC and obviously, to the feeling of sharing a toilet with thirty other girls.
